Will and Kate Take a Helicopter Ride

The Daily Mail published an article today about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge getting a lift in a helicopter from a friend.

It's hard to believe that Kate is 8 months pregnant - she really doesn't look that big! It's nice to have these sightings of Will and Kate between engagements, they look more like the rest of us :)

I-Lipo: Update

So yesterday morning I had my first experience with i-lipo; a process that uses lasers to release fat from fat cells a targeted area to contour the body and to essentially make the body smaller. Basically i-lipo simulates what happens to fat when the body exercises but at an accelerated rate.

I had my appointment at Sara's Total Spa in Toronto at Yonge and Lawrence, and I have to say that I was a bit surprised when I entered the place and found it basically empty! I'm used to salons and spas bustling with people, but the pedicure stations were empty and I was really the only client that I could see - and it was 11:30 in the morning!

However, when it came time for me to follow Sara, the owner of the spa and the lady who was going to preform the procedure on me, I realized that all of the activity was taking place downstairs. It was like kicking an ants nest: you don't see much happening up top, but boy are they busy underneath! There was a room full of people - the estheticians and the "patients", as we were called. It seems like their business is largely based on the technology that they use, rather than the traditional mani's and pedi's.

At first I felt a bit taken a back, and a bit uncomfortable, I felt like this was a personal procedure, so to have it done like I was in an assembly line was at first not terribly appealing. Not to mention that Sara barked orders at me the whole time and didn't seem to see me as a paying client who was doing this for the first time. But, the room was divided by curtains and there were beds in each section, and I quickly realized that no one was ashamed to be getting i-lipo, so why should I be?

I lay down and another lady wrapped my midsection with a band and stuck these plastic "pads" into the band. Then she turned on the machine and she left me to read some magazines for the next 30 minutes or so (I don't really know how long I was actually in there). There was no pain or discomfort. If anything it just felt a bit warm.

Unfortunately this establishment didn't measure or weigh me beforehand, so it was hard to know what results I had achieved (or didn't), but I think that there was a difference... I was also a little miffed that I didn't get my initial consultation. When I originally phoned in about this treatment, Sara wouldn't tell me how many sessions I would need over the phone, she said that I really needed to come in for a free consultation to determine what would be best for my goals. Generally though she seemed to indicate that 6 sessions would be suitable for me. So where was that oh so important consultation?

Also, I felt like if I hadn't asked for any information about the session I wouldn't have gotten any. For instance, I asked what I should do following the procedure(playing a little dumb). I had read that you should exercise right after for about 30 minutes. If I hadn't done some research though, and known to ask, would she have told me? And, as a result of that conversation, she mentioned that I should drink tons of water, and in fact I should exercise for 45 minutes, doing cardio.

Following this, she then proceeded to tell me how effective another treatment was in conjunction with i-lipo, which sort of put me off. It was like test driving one car and having the salesperson talk up another model instead. I wanted to know what i-lipo was going to do for me: I wanted to hear how it was going to transform my body, or else why was I there and even bothering (not to mention paying!)?

Overall though, I am glad that I did this, and will continue the sessions for the next two weeks (I am doing 6 sessions). I think that I definitely notice a smoothness and a firmness to my midsection, and possibly something has been lost from that area. It will be interesting to see what happens following my second session tomorrow.

If anything it will get me consistently exercising for 45 minutes twice a week for the next 3 weeks. I also drank a TON of water, but I try to do that anyways. But it was definitely more than my usual 8 glasses a day, which I'm sure is only doing good things for my body.

Hopefully I'm on the road to looking a bit more like Kate and Pippa - but if not I've checked something out and I love to try new beauty products :)

I-Lipo: Getting a Body Like Kate and Pippa

A few weeks ago I wrote how I would like to get a body similar to Kate's and Pippa's, by eating right and exercising (doing Pilates etc.). Both girls are known for being very active and very athletic and they both look great as a result.

Well, I am on my journey to losing the weight that I've gained over the last few years, as a result of being less active than I was. And so far things are going well, I've lost some weight and I'm feeling better.

However, I, like many other people, like to see results fast. And coincidentally I stumbled across a "Groupon" for a procedure called "i-lipo". Basically it's a spa treatment that lasts 30 minutes and melts fat in targeted areas of the body. This, combined with exercise right after the treatment, is supposed to melt inches off a person's body! Naturally I was intrigued, and I wanted to try it - I love trying new things, especially products that are meant to improve a person :)

My first appointment is tomorrow, and I'm really excited! I hope to "sculpt" my body to being something closer to Kate and Pippa's! I want to whittle down my hips and love handles to achieve a look closer to theirs. I hope that this will make my clothes fit better and make me feel better as a result.

I believe that part of what makes Kate and Pippa look so good is that they look so "tidy" in their clothing - nothing is bulging or bumping. Everything they wear fits so well, and I hope that I can achieve that through this process. I'll provide an update tomorrow!

Here is a before and after picture I found online. Keep in mind that I don't know how many sessions this person had. I think normally they recommend 8 for the best results. I will have at least 6, but no more most likely (as that is the price I will pay with the Groupon).

Here are some pictures of Kate and Pippa that are my motivators:

The Royal's Ex's

This is an interesting article about Prince William and Prince Harry's ex-girlfriends - many of whom attended Lady Melissa Percy's society wedding this past Saturday!

It's interesting to look at the women, and compare them to Kate and to Harry's last and current girlfriend. Also, note the different ages, apparently Will and Harry like older women :)

Lady Melissa's Society Wedding

Lady Melissa Percy was married in Northumberland this past Saturday. Prince William, Prince Harry and Pippa Middleton attended (among other notable guests - like Chelsy Davy, Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend and his current girlfriend, Cressida Bonas).

Here are some pictures from that event:

All About Pippa: Part V

I'm finally caught up! Today Pippa and her brother James attended a tennis match. Both siblings looked quite elegant in their respective outfits.

I love Pippa (and Kate) in this colour of blue. I think that is always looks really nice on them, and it accentuates their tan and their hair colour. Very nice!

I also think that the jacket is cute and so is the dress. I think it's very classy and classic. I like Pippa when she wears outfits like this one. She also seems to be able to pull off the more "boxy" outfits. I suppose because of her slender frame. They never make her look bulky or heavy, but they fit very nicely.

I LOVE Pippa's tan too. I wish that I had someone to spray tan me once a week :)

Notice that her hair is parted in the centre, I wonder why? Just for a change? I like it though.

Pippa chats with Princess Michael of Kent (wow!)

All About Pippa: Part IV

Here is Pippa out yesterday, bringing home her groceries.

I like the colour of the outfit, and the idea of it, but I don't know if I like her shoe choice. It's certainly practical, but I think that they aren't the best fit. She and Kate love their Plimsolls! I also think that Pippa needs to invest in a more supportive bra... That may be crossing the line, but I noticed it when she was wearing the blue dress last Friday. It seems to be strapless - why you would wear one with an outfit that doesn't require a strapless bra I don't know. I hate the dumb things.

All About Pippa: Part III

Although Pippa did not attend Ascot on Friday last week, she did attend on Saturday. It seems like it was a busy Saturday, as she also attended Lady Melissa Percy's wedding later that afternoon up in Northumberland.

Here is Pippa at Ascot:

I really like her outfit! I think she looks so pretty, and everything just works together so nicely! The only thing I don't really care for is her makeup, I think her eyes are done up a little too heavily. But I love her accessories, rings, necklace, bag and shoes. Her hat is also very pretty.

Here are some pictures of later in the day, when she attended the wedding:

This dress reminds me very much of the one by Project D London she wore last year to watch tennis with her sister, Kate. I don't care for either. I don't find them to be the most flattering of fits on her body for some reason, and I think that Pippa can look much better. I prefer it when she wears more classic outfits, rather than trendy ones.

Prince William and Prince Harry were also at this wedding, but Kate stayed home because of the journey there apparently.

All About Pippa: Part II

Pippa was out and about last Friday, wearing this blue dress. I can't say that I liked this look. Although, it is nice to see her looking relaxed and less done up going out - especially as she is only running errands. This makes me feel better about what I look like when I do the same thing :)

But her hair looked nicely pulled back. Notice that she is never without her two rings - worn on her left hand. I believe one is a signet ring and the other is just a plain band. The Middleton's (Pippa and James anyways) seem to like their signet rings.

I'm intrigued by Pippa's footwear. I don't know that I would wear them, but they're interesting and kind of cute. Nine West has some that look similar in their stores and online. They retail for $110 and $120.

All About Pippa: Part I

There are a number of things to comment on in this post. Pippa has been very busy over the last few weeks!

Here is Pippa watching Tennis back on June 13th:

I really love her hair parted this way - it's more of an exaggerated side part than she usually wears. I think it's quite flattering. I also really like how she's done her eye make up. It's similar to how she did it for a wedding a few weeks ago. It's much softer and prettier I think. She looks good in this colour of green too.

Pippa's earrings are also lovely! They are by Davina Combe and I believe they are the gold knots with the amethyst stone.

Very classy!

A Shopping Trip

The Daily Mail reported that the Duchess of Cambridge was out and about shopping for more nursery decor. Here are the pictures and a link to the article:

PDA Pippa!

I was surprised to see Pippa Middleton in the Daily Mail today - publicly kissing her boyfriend Nico Jackson! Typically we don't see the Middleton's displaying this kind of affection or being so open in public, or obviously not when cameras are around anyway!

Interesting that she is wearing tennis clothing, as her article in Vanity Fair just came out, where she wrote about her love of the sport. I hope it's not a publicity stunt. I've become skeptical and cynical, I should try to think more positively :)

I wonder if they were aware of the cameras? You just have to wonder. It's just so odd to me. And he seems like he would want to avoid something like this - as there have been rumours that he doesn't like the attention.

Oh well, regardless, it's nice to see that Pippa's in a seemingly loving relationship!
