"The Duchess of Cambridge's parents have been the first family members to visit Kate, Prince William and Baby Cambridge in hospital, and said their first grandchild is 'absolutely beautiful' and his parents are coping 'fabulously'.
Carole and Michael Middleton grinned broadly as they walked into the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in west London today, as it emerged that the royal couple and the future king are close leaving for Kensington Palace.
In a break from expected protocol, the Duke and Duchess asked her parents to visit them and their new child before any members of the royal family, including Prince Charles and the Queen.
The Middletons, who arrived by cab, spent an hour inside, before telling journalists waiting outside: 'We are so thrilled. The first cuddle was amazing.'
Carole was also asked if she and Michael had suggested any names for the third in line to the throne, and she laughingly replied: 'Absolutely not!'."
