Prince Edward and Sherlock Holmes: Benedict Cumberbatch Attends Palace Garden Party

The Daily Mail has some pictures today that include Prince Edward and the actor who plays Sherlock Holmes chatting at another Buckingham Palace garden party!

I think that Prince Edward looks quite nice in his top hat and tails!

Middleton Physique

Well this morning I woke up feeling really good and very close to my old self! I feel like getting back on track and eating right and working out (I have to say that I've probably been eating closer to 1,500 calories a day this week than my goal of 1,200 - but I'm cutting myself some slack, and I've been quite unwell and my body is still really out of whack).

But today, as I said, I'm feeling good! So I've just had breakfast: coffee and a yogurt. Normally I would have had cereal with my coffee, but I woke up a bit late and don't want to eat that much as I will be having my lunch soon (I know that sounds terrible, but I've really not been well, so I've let myself get as much sleep as possible).

For lunch I will be having half of a pita whole wheat pita with some shaved deli turkey, lettuce, horseradish prepared mustard, some pickle and 11 baby carrots. All of that amounts to 183 calories! And it's quite filling. I'm really not hungry again until supper.

Dinner tonight is a question mark, as I am eating at my in-law's, but I will be making healthy choices (more meat than carbs and lots of veggies). Also, although she makes great desserts, I will probably avoid it all together this evening. I need to get my old mentality back before I can start being lenient with myself. I really haven't stuck to 1,200 calories this week as I said, and I can't let myself do that or else the weight will come off much slower and I just won't have the right and dedicated mindset that I need.

I find it much harder to diet until I've seen a drop on the scale, then I really feel inspired and it helps me to continue. But until I see the numbers go down, I tend to not buckle down as I should - which is funny as some people are the opposite.

I will also do my 40 minute "Cardio Pilates" DVD. It combines 20 minutes of mat-work with 20 minutes of cardio. It's a good tape and I actually enjoy it better than some other ones I have.

If you want to have a body like Kate and Pippa, you need to put in the time and make the sacrifices!

This is a picture in her article in Vanity Fair! I'm currently sending my husband out on the mission to find it! Hopefully he comes back successful :)

Prince Philip in Hospital

It was announced yesterday that Prince Philip will spend the next few weeks in the hospital, under-going and recovering from "exploratory abdominal surgery".

Pippa

The Daily Mail has picked up the story now, about Pippa Middleton becoming a contributing editor for Vanity Fair.

In that article they have some new pictures of Pippa - walking down the street wearing some light grey pants, some "Plimsolls", which are shoes that Kate has also been seen wearing, and a loose fitting blouse with what appears to be a diamond pendant necklace.

I have to say that I almost prefer Pippa in skirts and dresses... I don't know what it is about pants on her (I can't imagine that I look better though). Also, it was a surprise to see her hair done up in such a simple pony tail!

Kate and Pippa: Get the Physique

Both Kate and Pippa have been admired for their great shapes and noted for their good workout and eating habits.

Now, it's important to note that they both naturally have "athletic" frames, meaning that they don't really possess hips, so that will mean that even working out and eating healthy will not necessarily mean that your frame will eventually look exactly or even close to a Middleton's. They also probably possess naturally good genes - just look at Carol Middleton.

However, I am going to embark on the journey of getting a body that as closely resembles Kate and Pippa's as possible. This is for health benefits and also so that I feel like I'm looking my best. Unfortunately, I was recently diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and this set me back a bit. In April I did lose 5 pounds and had about 10 more to go before I reached my first goal of 140 pounds (my old and typical weight a few years ago). So, I will basically be starting from 155 again and may come across other obstacles, but that's fine.

My plan is to do Pilates every day, or say that is my goal so that if I don't manage it every day then it will be at least every other day (I hope). I have an aunt who is a health and fitness fanatic, and she said that Pilates doesn't burn a ton of calories in a session, however, it completely makes over your figure in very little time. So that is why I'm going to do Pilates - for the sculpting and toning effects. I will try to find a way to incorporate some weight training in there. I may even switch out Pilates for Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred DVD, which is 20 minutes of circuit training (which includes weights).

Next, I will try to stick to eating 1,200 calories a day. This may sound ridiculous, but it's actually quite doable, and I've had great success by eating that many calories in a day before. In fact, if you really do eat well, eating 1,200 a calories a day is not a problem. You can actually eat quite a lot if you just make the right choices! By limiting my calorie intake to 1,200 calories I should lose more than 1 pound per week. But again, depending on how my metabolism is working (I've just started medication), this may vary.

Here are some of my inspiration pictures (don't laugh):

Pippa Middleton: Contributing Vanity Fair Editor

The Toronto Star has just published an article claiming that Pippa Middleton is not a contributing editor for the magazine Vanity Fair. Congratulations Pippa!

I have to say that I'm really happy for her. I think that it's great that she's carving out a legitimate and seemingly stable niche for herself. It would be very hard to be living in the shadow of her elder sister, Kate, I think. So this is great!

Catching Up: The Queen and Co. at the Abbey

Kate looked very nice the other day, when attending the service to commemorate the Queen's 60 years on the throne, at Westminster Abbey.

Here are some photos of Kate and Prince William (and even Harry).
