Get Kate's Look!

Ever since I discovered what brand Kate's favourite boots were (Aquatalia's "Cookie" boots), I have been searching everywhere trying to find a pair for myself, but sadly to no avail (I wear size 10, and so the boot is - where I've found it - does not come in my size. Also, as a style, the boot is very hard to find, probably because it is quite an old style).

However! After hunting for pairs amongst the Aquatalia brand for something similar, such as the "Crystal" or "Merle" boot - which were very expensive, I've found something that just might work!!!! By chance I went onto ninewest.ca and found a pair that is very similar to the "Cookie" boot, AND it doesn't cost a fortune!!!!

Here is the boot. And the cost? Only $209! Compared to the $400s and up, that price sits pretty well with me!

Here are Kate's "Cookie" boots (but in an expresso colour). Overall I think I did pretty well :)

Get Kate's Look!

Back in August Kate was seen shopping at Tesco (a place she often shops for groceries apparently).

Thanks to the blog "Duchess Kate" for the pictures and extensive info on Kate's shopping trip (http://hrhduchesskate.blogspot.com/2011/08/down-to-earth-duchess-shops-in-tesco.html)!

Here are some pictures of Kate, wearing a look that you can easily emmulate!

Kate is seen wearing a purple crew-neck sweater (unidentified), light blue skinny jeans (unidentified), and(thanks to "Duchess Kate" and her blog) an Aquascutum scarf and simple black flats with a bow detail.

This is how you can get this look:

Here are two options for sweaters, one from Gap and one from Banana Republic - great stores that carry timeless pieces that are similar to the ones that you are sure to see Kate wearing!

The Gap sweater is $49.95 and a crew-neck, like Kate's sweater, but the colour is perhaps a bit too vivid. However, the point here is to find similar looks to Kate's that will suit you, so you can still feel comfortable while emulating Kate's classic, effortless and sophisticated style.

The option from Banana Republic costs $74.00 and the colour is much closer to what Kate is seen wearing above, but the v-neck creates a dissimilarity - I believe that I may have referenced this style of sweater before in another post (this sweater comes in an array of different colours).

Kate's jeans (in this picture) are a lighter wash than we usually see her wearing. But you can find a jean like hers probably in your favourite store where you buy jeans. However, if not, here are some options from Gap, ranging in price from $42.99-$49.99 (they are currently on sale).

These three pictures show different styles of jeans, from straight, to skinny, to "slim" boot-cut. Find what works best for your body-type or style. The important thing is to be comfortable with what you're wearing. But these washes are very close to what Kate is seen to be wearing above. So you really can't go wrong.

The scarf that Kate is wearing is from Aquascutum, and is normally very expensive if you buy it in-store. However, you kind find that same scarf on ebay! Check out the picture below, or follow this link to take a look: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-Aquascutum-Unisex-Scarf-Tags-and-Bag-Navy-Club-Check-100-Lambswool-/360412430343?pt=Men_s_Accessories_UK&hash=item53ea414007.

If you're looking for something a little less expensive, check out Gap's scarves, retailing for $34.95, or any other store that would sell scarves, and look for a similar checked pattern!

Finally, to copy Kate's shoes look no further than your local ALDO store! These shoes are now on sale for only $16.98!!!

Now, put your hair up into a bun and you're good to go!

Get Kate's Look!

In the last post I mentioned that Kate was wearing a Zara dress, to the event at the Royal Albert Hall event the other evening. You can get yours, in Canada, for $119.00! Which is a steal if you want to copy Kate's look almost exactly!

If you're looking for a basic black jacket (the one Kate wore was by Ralph Lauren), you can go to a store like Mexx and you'll be sure to find one there. However, at this time of the year a 3/4 length sleeve will probably be hard to find. But, since the snow is sure to start falling soon, a full-length sleeve is probably a bit more practical anyways.

Another store that would also be a good option, is the Bay. Tahari is currently selling this black jacket for $82.50! It regularly retails for $165.00! Here is the jacket I'm refering too:

Thanks again to the blog, "whatkatewore" that helped to confirm the brand of jacket Kate wore the other evening!

Kate Arrives at the Royal Albert Hall Wearing Zara

Once again Kate shows that, despite being a royal duchess, she's sort of just like us :) Kate was dressed in the "Lace Tulip" dress from the ever accessible Zara yesterday evening. According to the Daily Mail, the Duchess of Cambridge; Prince William, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall all attended Gary Barlow's performance in aid of some of the riot stricken places in England at the Royal Albert Hall.

Kate looked stunning in the relatively short dress, a hemline we don't see her wearing much these days. Kate also wore a black belt with the dress, adding her own touch to the outfit; which is very in keeping with her obvious love of cinched waists or waist-conscious clothes. This look definitely suited Kate and her slender and tall frame, and she looked classic but definitely on-trend for Barlow's pop performance.

The jacket that Kate was sporting, over the dress, was last seen on the duchess on the day after her wedding to Prince William. The Daily Mail reported in their article on this event, that the jacket was Ralph Lauren, and thanks to the blog "whatkatewore" (http://whatkatewore.com/), it seems fairly certain that it is in fact Ralph Lauren.

In the meantime, enjoy these pictures and short video clip of the duchess as she arrives at the event. In the video, notice how Camilla acknowledges Kate with a friendly little wave and a big smile. Kate reciprocated the Duchess of Cornwall's greeting, showing a mutual respect and like for one another. This is definitely nice to see, Kate is obviously seen as a great addition to the family and the royals are seemingly working hard to make sure that she realizes that.

Today the Daily Mail reported that "the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh traveled up to Liverpool today to officially open a new museum that honours the city. Alternatives for Kate's Mulberry "Cabbage" Dress: Options from Zara

The other evening the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a function at Buckingham Palace, and Kate was seen wearing a dress from Mulberry - known as the "Cabbage" dress from their "Peace and Love" collection (see the dress below). Unfortunately for most, this dress is well out of reach, retailing well over a thousand pounds. However, there are alternatives elsewhere that can help you achieve a similar look. For instance, at another one of Kate's favourite shops, Zara.

The options for achieving this look, below, are not by any means exact copies - or even close (but they fall into the same shapes Kate likes to wear) - but they share similar characteristics to the dress pictured above, and would fit, most likely, in the same way - especially if you added a belt or a tighter fitting cardigan. Take a look!
