Kate Wears Mulberry's 'Cabbage' Dress

Hattie Brett of the Grazia Mail reports:

"It’s nice to know even the Duchess of Cambridge has a bit of a fashion dilemma, every now and then. Last night she admitted to Grazia’s editor in chief Jane Bruton that she was nervous but excited about meeting 350 members of the press at a reception to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. So who did Kate turn to dress her for the occasion? None other than British powerhouse Mulberry.

The Duchess wore a £1400 silk ‘Cabbage’ green pleated dress from Mulberry’s latest collection, which has a Peace and Love motif weaved into the fabric. Pleated, midi-length and with a peter pan collar – it ticks all the trend boxes, and the jewel colour suited her perfectly.

Kate admitted that she sometimes has to coordinate her outfits with the Royal Family but hadn’t on this occasion. Not that it mattered – she complimented the Queen’s shimmering gold and green outfit perfectly.

It’s not the first time Kate’s been associated with the classic but quirky British design house, Mulberry. She took the Polly Push bag on her tour of Canada and LA and last week, she was spotted in the brand's wool skirt while shopping but last night, Kate admitted that she only recently realized Mulberry made clothes, too.

As it was a reception for media, she also confessed she’s an avid magazine reader and is especially into Home magazines at the moment, no doubt as she’s decorating her new home with Prince William.

Let’s hope she’s also read this week’s issue of Grazia, too. If so she’ll have seen our exclusive story revealing the clothes she’s packed for her first Christmas with the Royal Family. Oh yeah, she probably knows that already…!"
