Timing

In one of the DM's article today, a doctor said that it is not unusual for first babies to take about 12 hours to arrive. And if all reports are correct about when Kate went to the hospital, we're approaching that time soon!

Now, I wouldn't at all be surprised if once Kate started feeling her contractions that they left for St. Mary's to be safe. However, normally women are told to hold off going to the hospital until their contractions are less than 5 minutes apart.

So it's hard to know just when this baby will arrive, as we might just be waiting for Kate to dilate, rather than to actually physically start to have the baby (as lovely as that all sounds).

I also had sister-in-laws who took a few days up to a week to actually fully dilate! So we could be waiting for a while if Kate goes the same way. The only difference is she would probably stay in hospital until everything is over, whereas my sister-in-laws had to wait at home until the they were closer to the actual birth.
